I am incredibly excited to officially bring this experience to Central Pennsylvania! However, if you've never heard of the concept, it can raise a lot of questions. In this post, I'm going to break down exactly what it is and help you determine if a stranger session is right for you.
So, what is a stranger session?
Simply put, a stranger session is a photography experience where you are paired with a complete stranger for an evening of cute, fun, and potentially romantic poses.
Every photographer handles the details a bit differently. At Millie D'Auria Photography, you will be carefully matched with someone based on a compatibility questionnaire. When I was designing these sessions, I put a lot of thought into how to ensure everything goes smoothly and potentially leads to a real relationship. I focused on the core traits people look for in a partner to build a screening process that sets you up for success.
How will it work on the day of the stranger session?
Once our date is set and your session is fully booked, I will instruct each of you to arrive at different sides of our chosen park or location. This ensures the surprise isn't ruined until the exact moment we want it to be!
After a quick check-in interview, I will bring you together back-to-back and photograph your genuine reactions to seeing each other for the first time. From there, we will proceed with an adorable photoshoot, using cute poses that fit your exact comfort level.
Who can participate in a stranger session?
Anyone can participate! As long as you are at least 18 years old and reside in or around the Central Pennsylvania area, you are welcome to sign up.
How should I arrive dressed for the stranger session?
Wear a nice outfit, just like you would for a first date!
- Men should wear a nice button-down shirt or similar
- Women should wear a dress or a dressy top and pants combo

I'm nervous to do something like this. Should I do it anyways?
Yes, absolutely! More than likely, the other person is just as nervous as you are. A stranger session is a pretty unique way to meet new people and stepping in front of a camera with someone you've never met before can definitely feel nerve-wracking. But my main goal at Millie D'Auria Photography is to make the environment as easy, relaxed, and fun as possible so you both have a great time.
What happens if we actually hit it off?
That is the ultimate goal! If sparks fly during the shoot, you have options.
- You can take things into your own hands right then and there
- You can let me know after the session that you'd like to keep talking to the other person
