Booking a photographer you've never worked with before is a daunting thing, especially if you're not sure what happens after you book your session. You want to be sure that you're making the right decision, especially for milestones in your life that you can't get back. I want to help you prepare for your session and overall photography experience by explaining my booking process from start to finish.
What happens after I fill out the contact form on your website to inquire about a session?
Once you submit the contact form with your details, I am notified immediately. I will reach out as soon as possible via your preferred method (email, text, or call) to discuss your vision. Once we determine the best session type for you, we will lock in the pricing, location, date, and time. After booking is finalized, you are all set until the day of your session.
What should I do to prepare for my session while I wait?
While waiting for session day, it's a great time to plan outfits, gather any specific ideas you love, and jot down questions. When it comes to wardrobe, my main recommendation is to avoid identical, matching patterns. Instead, look for colors that complement each other (like blues paired with warm tones). I am always happy to give feedback if you are stuck between outfits. Feel free to send over some photos!
What happens the day of the session?
On the day of your session, we will meet at our agreed-upon spot (like the parking lot or a specific landmark, like a gazebo). Once everyone is ready, I will guide you through the session using custom prompts rather than stiff, forced poses. This approach creates natural-looking results, captures genuine emotion, and keeps everyone moving comfortably.
What happens after my session?
Once we wrap up, I get straight to work sorting and editing. I take post-processing seriously, as it truly brings the final images to life.
Because I balance multiple galleries and dedicate time to perfecting every photo, my standard turnaround time is 2–4 weeks (though galleries are often completed sooner depending on the season). Keep an eye out for a few fun sneak peeks shortly after our shoot, too!
When your full gallery is ready, you will receive a link via Pixieset. From there, you can download and share your high-resolution images as many times as you’d like, or purchase professional prints, canvases, and photo books directly through your gallery.
